Ways to Make Money with Your Website

make money

make money

There are several lists with “ways to make money with a website” on the Internet, but none of them seem to be complete. That is why I decided to create this one. If you know a method that is not listed below, just let us know and we’ll update it.

Notice that ways to make money with a website are different from ways to make more money from it. Methods to increase your traffic or click-through rate will help you make more money, but they do not represent a method of making money per se.

For example, one could suggest that blending AdSense ads with the content is a way to make money from a website. In reality it’s not; it’s just a way to make more money by improving your ad click-through rate. The real monetization method behind it is a PPC ad network.

The list is divided into direct and indirect methods, and examples and links are provided for each point. Enjoy!

Direct Methods

1. PPC Advertising Networks

Google AdSense is the most popular option under this category, but there are also others. Basically you need to sign up with the network and paste some code snippets on your website. The network will then serve contextual ads (either text or images) relevant to your website, and you will earn a certain amount of money for every click.

The profitability of PPC advertising depends on the general traffic levels of the website and, most importantly, on the click-through rate (CTR) and cost per click (CPC). The CTR depends on the design of the website. Ads placed abode the fold or blended with content, for instance, tend to get higher CTRs. The CPC, on the other hand, depends on the nice of the website. Mortgages, financial products and college education are examples of profitable niches (clicks worth a couple of dollars are not rare), while tech-related topics tend to receive a smaller CPC (sometimes as low as a couple of cents per click).

The source of the traffic can also affect the overall CTR rate. Organic traffic (the one that comes from search engines) tends to perform well because these visitors were already looking for something, and they tend to click on ads more often. Social media traffic, on the other hand, presents terribly low CTRs because these visitors are tech-savvy and they just ignore ads.

List of popular CPC advertising networks:

2. CPM Advertising Networks

CPM advertising networks behave pretty much as PPC networks, except that you get paid according to the number of impressions (i.e., page views) that the ads displayed on your site will generate. CPM stands for Cost per Mille, and it refers to the cost for 1,000 impressions.

A blog that generates 100,000 page views monthly displaying an advertising banner with a $1 CPM, therefore, will earn $100 monthly.

CPM rates vary with the network, the position of the ad and the format. The better the network, the higher the CPM rate (because they have access to more advertisers). The closer you put the ad to the top of the page, the higher the CPM. The bigger the format (in terms of pixels), the higher the CPM.

You can get as low as $0,10 and as high as $10 per 1,000 impressions (more in some special cases). CPM advertising tends to work well on websites with a high page views per visitor ratio (e.g., online forums, magazines and so on).

List of popular CPM advertising networks:

3. Direct Banner Advertising

Selling your own advertising space is one of the most lucrative monetization methods. First and foremost because it enables you to cut out the middleman commissions and to determine your own rates. The most popular banner formats on the web are the 728×90 leaderboard, the 120×600 skyscraper, the 300×250 rectangle and the 125×125 button.

The downside of direct banner advertising is that you need to have a big audience to get qualified advertisers, and you will need to spend time managing the sales process, the banners and the payments.

4. Text Link Ads

After Google declared that sites selling text links without the nofollow tag would be penalized, this monetization method became less popular.

Many website owners are still using text links to monetize their sites, though, some using the nofollow tag and some not.

The advantage of this method is that it is not intrusive. One can sell text links directly through his website or use specialized networks like Text-Link-Ads and Text-Link-Brokers to automate the process.

Text link marketplaces and networks:

5. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a very popular practice on the Internet. Under this system you have a merchant that is willing to let other people (the affiliates) sell directly or indirectly its products and services, in exchange for a commission. Sometimes this type of advertising is also called CPA (cost per action) or CPL (cost per lead) based.

Affiliates can send potential customers to the merchant using several tools, from banners to text links and product reviews.

In order to find suitable affiliate programs you can turn to individual companies and publishers like Dreamhost and SEOBook, or join affiliate marketplaces and networks.

List of popular affiliate marketplaces and networks:

6. Monetization Widgets

The latest trend on the web are widgets that let you monetize your website. Examples include Widgetbucks and SmartLinks. Some of these services operate under a PPC scheme, others behave like text link ads, others yet leverage affiliate links.

Their main differentiator, however, is the fact that they work as web widgets, making it easier for the user to plug and play the service on its website.

List of companies that provide monetization widgets:

7. Sponsored Reviews

PayPerPost pioneered this model, with much controversy on the beginning (related to the fact that they did not require disclosure on paid posts). Soon other companies followed, most notably Sponsored Reviews and ReviewMe, refining the process and expanding the paid blogging model.

Joining one of these sponsored reviews marketplaces will give you the opportunity to write sponsored posts on a wide range of topics. Not all bloggers are willing to get paid to write about a specific product or website (because it might compromise the editorial credibility), but the ones who do are making good money out of it.

If your blog has a big audience you could also offer sponsored reviews directly, cutting off the commissions of the middleman.

List of sponsored reviews and paid blogging networks:

8. RSS Feed Ads

With the quick adoption of the RSS technology by millions of Internet users, website owners are starting to find ways to monetize this new content distribution channel.

Feedburber already has its own publisher network, and you can sign-up to start displaying CPM based advertising on your feed footer. Bidvertiser recently introduced a RSS feed ad option as well, with a PPC scheme.

Finally, some blogs are also opting to sell banners or sponsored messages on their feed directly. John Chow and Marketing Pilgrim are two examples.

Part-Time Jobs With Benefits

A number of part-time vocations come with subsidized health insurance coverage, paid vacation days, retirement matching, corporate discounts, and more. You just have to know where to look.

Often, part-time employees must work at least 20 to 30 hours a week to be eligible for company benefits. And some companies won’t cough up the health-care and financial perks until you’ve been an employee for 3, 6, or 12 months. Still, a benefits package is a benefits package, no matter how you get it.

Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent returning to the workforce, a college student in need of extra income, or an office worker who’s grown weary of the 60-hour-a-week grind, there’s probably a part-time job with benefits out there for you.

1. Package handler. Do you have a strong back and an aversion to offices? Then you might get a lot of mileage out of loading and unloading packages at a UPS warehouse in one of the 90 cities the shipping carrier serves. Part-timers must work a minimum of 15 hours a week and wait 12 months before being eligible for benefits. But the company fully funds your health insurance premiums and offers tuition reimbursement for part-timers who take harder-to-fill shifts. Median wage: $11 to $12 per hour.*

2. Barista. Pacific Northwest-based Tully’s Coffee serves up some pretty rich perks to the part-time baristas who work in its Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, and Arizona retail locations. Employees who put in at least 17.5 hours are eligible for sick pay, a 401(k) savings plan, a limited health plan, dental insurance, legal services, and a slew of discounts. On top of those perks, baristas who work at least 24 hours a week are eligible for medical insurance (including PPO and HSA offerings), disability insurance, and holiday and vacation pay. Median wage: $8.45 per hour.

3. Test prep tutor. Do you enjoy working with students? If you have some teaching experience and know your way around standardized tests, working as a classroom instructor or private tutor can be a great way to parlay your skills into a part-time job with flexible hours and health benefits. Companies like Kaplan regularly hire instructors and tutors to guide teens and adults through the test preparation process — from the SATs to grad school admissions testing to professional certification exams. Median wage: $12.22 per hour.

4. Customer service representative. If you’re a people person who’s good on the phone, working as a call center rep might be the gig for you. Not only do many of these jobs lend themselves to flexible, part-time shifts, more and more companies are hiring customer service reps to work from their own home.Keep in mind that, to qualify for these positions, you must have a reliable computer and Internet connection. Median wage: $11.16 per hour.

5. Computer software test/quality assurance analyst. Are you the person everyone comes to when their latest software purchase has them stumped? Then why not put your tech savvy to work? Software companies — notorious for their flexible schedules (including part-time hours) and generous benefits — always need people to test their creations before they ship. Note: A two-year or four-year computing degree or prior programming experience likely will be required. Median wage: $18.84 per hour.

6. Sales clerk/cashier. If you think working for a grocery store takes you out of the running for subsidized health care, you’re wrong. Employees of Whole Foods who work at least 30 hours a week and have put in at least 800 hours with the supermarket chain benefit from the company’s fully funded health care plan. Plus, the longer they’re with the company, the more paid days off employees receive for vacation, holidays, and personal time. And after a year with the company, part-time employees are eligible for a 401(k) plan and a 20 percent discount on all store items. Median wage: $8.16 per hour.

7. Bus driver. Don’t want to work in an office or a retail location? With a valid driver’s license and a squeaky-clean driving record, you can try your hand at driving a bus for a living. Not only are the schedules flexible, healthcare benefits and paid-time off are frequently included. In King County in Washington State, after completing a 26-day paid training program, drivers who work at least 12.5 hours a week are eligible for the county’s healthcare package, paid vacation days, and sick leave. And after seven months on the job, part-time drivers are eligible for the county’s retirement plan. Median wage: $12.80 per hour.

8. Medical assistant. Not only is health care one of the most recession-proof fields out there, it’s known for offering more than its share of part-time employment options — complete with health benefits and paid time off. In fact, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics ranks medical assistants as one of the fastest growing careers today. Sixty-two percent of medical assistants work in doctor’s offices, performing a variety of administrative tasks. While some medical assistants learn on the job, many come to the field with a one-year or two-year degree. Median wage: $11.26 per hour.

9. Domestic worker. Like the general public but don’t like the hustle and bustle of public places? Then you might like working in a private home as a part-time nanny or house cleaner. In Seattle, the agency A Nanny for You places domestic workers with families, some of whom provide monthly health-care stipends that workers can apply to their own health insurance costs. Plus, the pet waste removal franchise DoodyCalls, which boasts 40 U.S. locations, offers health coverage to employees who have been with the company 30 days and work at least 30 hours a week scooping Fido’s backyard droppings. Median wage: $13 to $17 per hour.**

10. Temporary office assistant. As companies struggle to operate with leaner budgets this year, they’re more likely to hire temps to handle pressing projects than add another staff member to their payroll. And while you won’t catch any company doling out benefits to its temps, the agencies that hire these project-based workers frequently offer such perks. Case in point: Express Employment Professionals, a temp agency with 600 offices in four countries that offers its administrative, industrial, and professional temps health coverage the moment they’re placed on their first assignment. After working the requisite number of hours (varies from branch to branch), Express temps also are eligible for holiday pay, a 401(k) program, and computer and job skills training. Median wage: $10.50 per hour.

The Best MLM Leads for Your Home Business

If you’ve been involved in network marketing for any significant period of time chances are you’ve spent money on MLM leads. With all the tools available to a home business owner today there is absolutely no reason to spend money on MLM leads ever again! It’s just simply a waste of money here is why…

If you could have 1000 MLM leads who might be interested in your business or 5 prospects who called you about your MLM opportunity which would be more valuable to you? If you said the 1000 prospects you’d be dead wrong.

If you want true success in your MLM / home based business, you do not want joiners you want partners. The people that are “ready to buy” are always better than the ones who are “just looking”. When you call a long list of leads you can be sure that almost all of them are just looking and many of them are ‘joiners’. Sure maybe some of them are serious about it but most of them are probably just kicking tires. That means you have to go through a lot of people just to find the few they are interested in a real lifestyle change.

So what’s the solution? Well instead of contacting a ton of people who might be interested why not just get the people who are interested to contact you? That means you’re only spending your time talking to people who are already interested in working with you.

Besides the time and money you’ll be saving having people call you gives you the upper hand in your business. In any MLM business posture is key to your success and it’s completely different when prospects call you versus when you call them.

When you call a prospect they are usually grumpy or annoyed or make you feel like you’re wasting their time however, when they call you it’s a whole different ball game.

So how do you get people to pick up the phone and call you? That’s easier than most are lead to believe with internet marketing.

The internet is a truly amazing tool that is changing the way home businesses are run all over the world. If you have yet to discover the power of the internet it’s time to learn!

Beware of the so-called internet Guru’s. There is a saying in the MLM industry and that is: “Those that can do and those that can’t teach”. I love this saying because it’s so true in MLM. Just search online and you’ll find the self proclaimed MLM trainers are spending money hand over fist to get their websites top billing. If they really knew what they were doing, they would not need to buy activity.

When you market properly on the internet you are able to find more people from all over who want what you have without actually having to talk to any of them. They find you, they get the information and then they call you when they are ready (or very close) to getting started!

People who know how to use the power of the internet will never go back to traditional forms of marketing…it’s just not worth it.

I encourage you to find someone who is willing to teach you how to market your MLM business online for free and you’ve found the key to huge success working from home! So stop wasting time, money and energy on MLM leads and start changing your life today with the power of internet marketing!

Earn Money Online

Have you been hoping to earn money online?  Have you given several programs a try, and still nothing?  Are you starting to feel like a failure?  Are you thinking about throwing in the towel?

Well don’t.

If you give up now, you will never make it. You have to be persistent. You have to keep trying.I know it’s hard to believe in something if you are not seeing it, but it is real.  People are making money online every day!  You just haven’t found your calling yet!

And once you find something that you like to do, and are capable of doing, you will be able make money online too! (instead of just hoping to earn money online)

Hopes and dreams are great, but have you ever heard of someone making millions just by hoping too? Of course not! If you want to make money online you will  have to work for it.

The problem with these online programs may be the fact, that they usually only give you one way to make money. Guess what? Every one can’t be good at doing the same type of work, no matter what it is.

In other words, just because that program worked for Sally and Jim, does not mean that it will work for you! And you shouldn’t kick yourself when it doesn’t work for you either. What would the world be like if we all were Doctors?

It really goes back to an old saying that you may have heard of before, “Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket”. That saying is so true when it comes to making money online.

You can’t just buy a program, and sit around hoping to earn money online. Even if  you do follow the directions to a T! Some people are better at some things, than others might be. It’s not your fault either!

The program may still work for you too, but you will have to study it and perfect it!  And with out the required skills, that could take some time.

It’s much better to start with some thing that shows you several different ways to make money, instead of only one. Especially if you are new to the whole online money making experience to begin with! By doing this you can take a look around, and find some thing that you may be good at!

Stop sitting around hoping to earn money online!  Figure out what you like, what you are interested in, and what skills you may have! Then give it a go.

I have spent the last few years online, finding different ways to make money. If you would like more information, on all the different ways that you could make money online please visit my site

Outsource Your Data Entry Work

Data entry outsourcing has been done from many years. For over two decades, data entry, data processing or data conversion has been done from home or at data entry centers by qualified persons but it costs too high. Although it’s usually a good idea to keep data entry in-house, sometimes it makes more sense to outsource it.

For example, you are conducting a one-time customer survey on service quality and expecting a written response from thousands of customers but you don’t have the sufficient staff to do the data entry or you have to pay high to the experts for the work, in this case outsourcing would be more cost effective.By outsourcing the data entry work, you can also avoid some extra expenses.

Some years ago, there were few companies knew about outsourcing data entry, and from that time this field has grown rapidly in the market and giving better and better results. It was believed that only in-house personnel could really understand the company’s products, but today there are data entry specialists who are knowledgeable in every field of business. They can manage data better and faster. Outsourcing also decreases employee stress and management problems.

Key to get success in outsourcing is to find right data entry service provider. The chosen data entry service provider should have experience of field and well understanding of data entry. The service provider should also offer a variety of benefits regarding methods of data transmission, turnaround time etc. The best data entry service provider will even help to design project and give some suggestions for reducing the costs.

Make Money Online

There are many ways to make money online: some opportunities are free to avail where some need you to invest some money first. When it comes to investing money in order to start making money online, the first thing that comes to the mind is a Scam.

I personally suggest to people to avoid any opportunity where they need to invest any amount of money from their own pocket: this is to insure that no one get scammed. If we do not pay any money from our own pocket, then no one can scam us.

Today, I want to talk about an opportunity that is available for people living in Pakistan.

Karachi Stock Market [KSE] is a place where Pakistanis can invest their money in shares of different companies. To start doing business at KSE, one needs to invest some money. This is a great opportunity to make money online but to get started you will have to invest some cash.

I personally use KASB Direct to trade in shares of companies at KSE. When I started this work, I think I invested Rs.50, 000. This was the money required to open an account at KASB Direct at that time.

But I think nowadays, we need to invest Rs.100, 000 to get an account at KASB Direct.

KSE is now a very mature stock market where investors from foreign countries also do business.

Accordingly to some people, working at stock markets is very risky business. However, you can avoid risks via only investing money in safe companies.

I suggest that you do not start doing this stock market selling and buying business at once: first do some research about different companies, see their annual reports, take a look at their past few months’ performance in stock market etc: do lot of research before you invest your money in any stock.

This is a very good opportunity via which you can make money at home using the trading software which you will get once you open an account at KASB Direct.

Just remember to not take any risks and only buy shares after doing some good company background research
